... and almost 6 years being on here.

Let's have a recap shall we?

January of 2009 was the beginning of my existence... erm, on here. Trying to come up with a name is hard until I came up with a name on a certain character from a book/film. That is how I pronounce his game back then and I associate my identity on the Internet by that name to this very day. Very original no?
But that was just the beginning.
I started off wandering about and on some occasions I like to say what I liked about that art. I mainly aim for 'Anime' style works cause hey, I liked them. Now I got a slightly more broader taste, but anime/manga is by far my favorite still. It was the year when I got the tablet, I believe it was around March when I found one. My Wacom Bamboo. ^^
Oh and it shipped with Photoshop, but downscaled for simple photo-editing and a paint software. It was alright, but I've also used Pencil for traces and GIMP. At first I only sketched them knowing I don't do fairly well at drawing and probably never will. That was my attitude as a 19 year old. >u<

My first attempt at a detailed fanart was this, using GIMP.

At the time I thought I did really great, but at the end I somehow butchered her OC now that I looked back. A lot of things were wrong on here. Oh but that's only just the beginning.

This one is by far the best one I've done that year and THIS took me so long to draw (I was pretty lazy back them).

Okay so 2009 was a slow and rough year. When 2010 rolled in, I knew I want to start improving on art. This time for REALZ!

I am quite proud at my attempt to be much more productive than before, except I forced myself to get better at it. I was pretty serious back then trying to meet deadlines so I could keep going and work harder. I made myself not having fun at times, however; the reward was worth it. This was the year I got my hands on SAI, one of my best investments ever to draw with.
On a side note, I enrolled myself to AoH, a roleplay group I joined in later that year.

Then 2011 came along and I made some small improvements. That year is by far the most productive I ever did. I got to try my hands on fan and original works. I can think of a few awesome works that define 2011 and I still think they're great to this day, even if they're dated now:

But 2012 is by far the least productive year for me. I know I had a job working for my grandfather, but one job took so much motivation out of me... I was tired and bored. Though I did try to work on something in the form of sketches.
I am not without some notable works, some which came out before and after my summer work season of 2012.

Despite a small dry spell, I somehow improved on the later half.

2013 is sort of the same, ironic to say, I don't have a job then. So I had a chance to be a little more experimental with my skills. I produced even fewer images... sooooo does that mean 2013 is just as less than before? Probably.
I do enjoy some of them:

Oh yeah, I had a sudden fascination with multicolor horses that year. :3

Finally, 2014 was a busy year in my life. Being in college took a lot of my time so I rarely had time to draw or be experimental. I did managed to slip in a few in early January, one of them would later to become an interesting concept. After college, I'm slowly starting to earn my groove back. Also, I got my hands on Clip Paint Studio. Frigg'n awesome! But I've used Illustudio since late 2012 until last summer. Sketches aside, I did some of my own drawings and had commissioned other artists to draw my OCs. Also, 2014 is the year of Faydiana for some reason.

It has been a long journey since I started out and look where I'm at. I know many people who started off wondered how would an artist get so good at drawing. Well here's my answer: Take it from my experience as an example, but don't push yourself hard early on. Your skill will naturally improve with some help (thanks to my sister early on, she taught me the basics of anatomy). In time you'll find your inner style and eventually you'll look back with a proud smile. I know I am happy where I'm at, but that doesn't have to end here. I continue to push my boundaries and willing to learn one new thing using any tool that works and so should you. To improve is to actually take one small step at a time. Appreciate what you have now and be thankful later, you'll be surprised how your art stacks up compared to your past. ;)

I may not be the best, but knowing what to believe in will. Believe in yourself... in a positive way.

So what does 2015 have in store for me? Well I am going to whip up something very interesting so keep your tabs open. Oh and if you want to see me (along with others) draw stuff, I had a Pictaro account you can check it out here: www.picarto.tv/live/channel.ph…

What do you think, what is your best/worst year in terms of creativity, did you notice the improvements since you joined DA or before? I would love to know what you think. ^^

Oh yeah, Happy Birthday to me. :iconheplz:
